Child obesity has been described as a "ticking timebomb!"
I don't know about you but that headline shocked us the first time we read it.
Recent Government statistics have shown that Childhood Obesity in primary aged school children is on the rise......and has been for years.
Some 60,000 children at the end of primary school in England and Wales are now obese, of whom 22,000 are classed as "severely obese".
How with all the free information out there covering:
Can childhood obesity be on the increase?
It's time to take action and join FitFamz to give our children a happy and healthier future.
Life at times is hectic, we get that.
But can we really afford not to take action in the best interests of our children's health and wellbeing?
"Prevention is better than a cure"
Strictly speaking, it is easier to prevent something from happening than dealing with it after it has occurred.
The easiest and fastest way to find out if you or your child's weight is healthy is by using the calculator below to determine whether you or your children are at risk:
So how were the results?
Did they shock you?
Are you at risk?
What about your children?
We all know the health benefits of diet and exercise but sometimes, getting that message through to our children is one of the toughest challenges we as parents face.
At team FitFamz we are passionate about encouraging our little ones to be active and want you to join us with yours.
We have struggled (Daily) to get them active and had to come up with different ways to get them involved.
Through trial and many many errors we noticed the best way to get them enthusiastic about exercise was to:
This is where we come in!
We want to you and your little ones to find a love for being active. We've devised a number of challenges aimed at motivating children to increase their activity levels and rewarding them for their efforts.
All challenges start on the 1st of each month and are priced at £7.
They have the entire month to achieve the chosen distance and complete their challenge. They can do this by walking, running, skipping, jumping, hopping, cycling, swimming or pushing the distance!
It is then over to the parent/guardian to award these once the challenge has been completed.
Please remind your little one to show this off to the rest of your family and school friends! We love to see all the pictures on social media
